Laundry THE DUET® FABRIC CARE SYSTEM

The Duet® fabric care system was launched in 2001 and was one of the first front-load laundry systems in North America. Its success spurred an industry-wide shift to front-load design. In 2006, the Duet® fabric care system was updated with a new design and additional features. The Duet® Steam washer and dryer introduced steam technology. In the washer it naturally steams out tough stains from virtually eliminating the need to pre-treat laundry. In the dryer, stream refreshes clothes by relaxing wrinkles and removing odors. The washer’s sanitary cycle allows consumers to sanitize laundry without the use of harsh chemicals. It heats wash water to 153°F to kill 99.9 per cent of certain bacteria. This system is more effective at killing bacteria than bleach and is certified by the NSF.

The Duet® Steam washer and dryer was developed to minimize water and energy usage. The washer uses 74 per cent less water compared to conventional washers manufactured before 2004. It saves on average 16,341 gallons of water per year. In addition, it uses 77 percent less energy (164 kWh of electricity per year vs. 956 kWh of electricity) than pre-2004 conventional washers. Whirlpool Corporation is committed to conserving natural resources as well as saving money for consumers.

The Duet® Steam washer and dryer are ENERGY STAR® qualified.
