Jeff M. Fettig

Chairman of the Board,
Chief Executive Officer

Jeff M. Fettig was named chairman and chief executive officer of Whirlpool Corporation, effective January 2006. Previously, he was elected to the position of chairman, president and chief executive officer in July 2004. He served as president and chief operating officer, as well as became a member of Whirlpool's board of directors, from June 1999.

Fettig joined Whirlpool in 1981 as an operations associate. He held a number of managerial positions in operations, sales, planning and product development before being promoted to vice president, marketing, KitchenAid Appliance Group in July 1989. In October 1990, he was named vice president, marketing, for the Philips Whirlpool Appliance Group of Whirlpool Europe B.V., the company's European subsidiary, and was named vice president, group marketing and sales, North American Appliance Group, in October 1992. In 1994 he was named an executive vice president of Whirlpool and president, Whirlpool Europe and Asia.

A native of Tipton, Ind., Fettig holds a bachelor's degree in finance and a master of business administration degree from Indiana University.

David A. Binkley

Senior Vice President
Global Human Resources

David A. Binkley was named senior vice president, global human resources for Whirlpool Corporation in February 2004.

Binkley joined Whirlpool in 1984 as regional manager, human resources for the sales organization, and in 1986 he was named manager, employee relations, for the parts Distribution Center in LaPorte, Indiana. Binkley was named director, executive development, Corporate Human Resources in 1989, and in 1992 was named director, human resources for Whirlpool Europe (Comerio, Italy). In 1994, he was named director, human resources, Whirlpool Asia (Singapore). In 1995, he was named vice president, human resources Greater China, where he had responsibility for Whirlpool Hong Kong, Ltd. and four joint venture operations located in the People's Republic of China. In 1996, he returned to Whirlpool headquarters as corporate director, management resources and was named vice president, human resources for the North America Region in October 1998 where he became responsible for human resources activities in the United States, Mexico and Canada. In March 2001, he was named corporate vice president, global human resources.

Binkley graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of science degree in business and human resource management, and he attended Michigan State University's Graduate School of Labor and Industrial Relations.

Marc Bitzer

Executive Vice President and President,
Whirlpool Europe

Marc Bitzer was named executive vice president and president, Whirlpool Europe, effective January 2006. He had been elected senior vice president, marketing sales and services, Whirlpool Europe S.r.l. in December 2000. Prior to this assignment, he was vice president, Bauknecht Brand Group.

Before joining Whirlpool Europe in 1987, he was an intern at W.J. Gore & Associates in Munich and in October of that year, relocated with W.L. Gore & Associates to Elkton, Maryland. In 1989, he joined the Institute of Management in St. Gallen, Switzerland, as personal assistant to chairman of the institute and joined Simex Trading AC, Gais, Switzerland from 1990-1998. In 1991, he became an associate consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, Munich, and in 1994 moved to their Toronto, Canada, facility to become a case leader. In 1996, he returned to Munich and was named manager, vice president in June 1999. In September, he was named vice president, Bauknecht Brand Group.

Bitzer earned his Ph.D. from the St. Gallen Graduate School of Business, Economics and Law.

Mark E. Brown

Senior Vice President
Global Strategic Sourcing

Mark E. Brown was named senior vice president, global strategic sourcing in September 2002. Prior to this assignment, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Brown joined Whirlpool in 1973 as an accountant at the Marion, Ohio Division. After having served at the St. Paul (MN) plant and the corporate office in Benton Harbor, Michigan, he was named to manage the Columbia (S.C.) plant in March 1988. Subsequent to this assignment in Columbia, he was named group controller for the Kenmore Appliance Group before being named controller for the North American Appliance Group in 1991. Brown was appointed vice president, procurement, North American Appliance Group in 1993; general manager, marketing, North American Appliance Group in 1995; in 1996 was named controller for Whirlpool Asia; and in 1997 he was named corporate vice president and controller for Whirlpool Corporation. In 1999 he was named executive vice president and chief financial officer.

A native of Peosta, Iowa, Brown holds a B.A. from the University of Iowa.

Daniel F. Hopp

Senior Vice President
Corporate Affairs
General Counse

Daniel F. Hopp was named senior vice president, corporate affairs and general counsel in March 1998.

Hopp joined the company as an attorney in 1979. He was promoted to assistant secretary and legal counsel in April 1984 and to corporate secretary and assistant general counsel in October 1985. He was elected corporate vice president, general counsel and secretary in June 1989. Prior to joining Whirlpool, Hopp practiced law with the firm of Mayer, Brown and Platt in Chicago.

A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Hopp earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Michigan in 1969 and a juris doctor degree from Wayne State University in 1973 where he graduated summa cum laude.

He serves on the boards of directors for the Lakeland Regional Health Center in St. Joseph, the Council for World-Class Communities in Benton Harbor and Horizon Bank in Michigan City, Indiana, and as a member of the St. Joseph Planning Commission. He is also a member of the Michigan, Illinois and Berrien County Bar Associations.

Mark K. Hu

Executive Vice President,
Whirlpool Asia

Mark K. Hu was named executive vice president, Asia region of Whirlpool Corporation in January 2004.

Prior to joining Whirlpool, Hu was senior vice president and General Manager of Lighting East Asia for Philips Lighting. Before becoming senior vice president, he was vice president and general manager of Lamps in China and Hong Kong for Philips.

Hu earned a B.S. degree from the Cornell School of Hotel Management and an MBA from Cornell’s Business School.

Paulo F. M. O. Periquito

Executive Vice President and President,
Latin American Region

Paulo F.M.O. Periquito is the executive vice president of Whirlpool for Latin America. He joined Multibras as General Director on March 15, 1996, after several years with Alcoa Aluminio S.A., a Latin American subsidiary of Aluminum Company of America.

He joined Alcoa in 1972 after working 5 years in the IT area for a Brazilian bank and for ITT Data Services in Sao Paulo.

At Alcoa, he held leadership positions in IT, procurement, logistics, human resources, finance and administration. In 1983, he became controller of the manufactured product division. In 1984, he was named general manager of the distribution business unit. Periquito subsequently became director of the unit and was responsible for creating and managing a retailing unit of home business products. In 1988, he became responsible for all three major business units. In 1989, he was named Alcoa chief financial officer for all Latin America and was also elected to the Alcoa board of directors in Mexico. Two years later, he was appointed vice president, corporate planning, human resources and quality, and he become chief executive officer of Grupo Aluminio, an Alcoa subsidiary, in November 1991. In early 1994, Periquito was named executive vice president and a member of the board for Alcoa in Latin America.

David L. Swift

President
Whirlpool North America

David L. Swift was named to the position of president, Whirlpool North America, and became a member of the board of directors, effective January 1, 2006.  Swift joined Whirlpool as executive vice president, North America Region, in October 2001.

Prior to joining Whirlpool, Swift was president of Eastman Kodak Company's Kodak Professional Group. Before becoming president, he was chairman and president of Kodak's Greater Asia Region, based in Shanghai, China.

A native of Wilbraham, Mass., Swift earned a B.A. in mathematics and physics from Amherst College, a M.S. in electronics engineering from Dartmouth College and a M.B.A. from Harvard University's Graduate School of Business.

Roy W. Templin

Executive Vice President
Chief Financial Officer

Roy W. Templin was named executive vice president and chief financial officer, as well a member of Whirlpool's Executive Committee, effective Sept. 1, 2004.

Prior to joining Whirlpool Corporation in July 2003 as corporate vice president and controller, Templin was vice president of finance and chief accounting officer for Kimball International, Inc., the Jasper, Indiana based manufacturer of furniture and contract electronic products. He also held the positions of vice president and corporate controller, and assistant corporate controller.

Before joining Kimball, Templin worked for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana, and held numerous positions of increasing responsibility including director, corporate accounting and director, corporate finance. Earlier in his career, Templin held positions at NCR Corporation in Dayton, Ohio, and Price Waterhouse, in Indianapolis, Indianapolis.

Templin holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University in Bloomington. He is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant.

Michael D. Thieneman

Executive Vice President
Chief Technology Office

Michael (Mike) Thieneman was named executive vice president and chief technology officer of Whirlpool Corporation in June 2000.

Thieneman joined Whirlpool in 1977 as a project engineer. He has served as president and chief executive officer of Inglis Limited, Whirlpool's wholly owned Canadian subsidiary; as president of Whirlpool Compressor Operations in Riva di Chieri, Italy; and as corporate vice president, global procurement operations. In October 1997 he was named executive vice president, North American Region.

A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Thieneman earned a B.A. degree in physics from Bellarmine College in 1970 followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. in physics from the University of Kentucky in 1977. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Evansville in 1981.

Michael A. Todman

President
Whirlpool International

Michael A. Todman was named president, Whirlpool International, and became a member of the board of directors of Whirlpool Corporation on January 1, 2006. Prior to this assignment, Todman was the executive vice president and president, Whirlpool Europe, a position he assumed in October 2001.

Todman began his career with Whirlpool in 1993 as director, finance, United Kingdom. He then served in positions of increasing responsibility as general manager, Northern Europe and vice president, consumer services, Whirlpool Europe. He was promoted to controller of North America in 1995; vice president, Product Management in 1996; and vice president, Sears Sales and Marketing in 1997 before being named senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, North America in 1999. In March 2001, he was named executive vice president, North America, and a member of the executive committee of Whirlpool Corporation.

Prior to joining Whirlpool, Todman worked for ten years at Wang Laboratories, Inc., a computer hardware and software company. Todman began his career with Price Waterhouse and Co., an audit, tax and consulting firm, before joining Wang.

A native of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Todman earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Georgetown University.

W. Timothy Yaggi

Market Operations

W. Timothy Yaggi was named executive vice president, Market Operations in January 2006. Previously, he was senior vice president and general manager, Brand Portfolio Group, North America beginning in June 2002. Prior to this, he was vice president, Whirlpool Brand, North America.

Since joining Whirlpool in 1994, Yaggi has held a variety of other leadership positions including vice president, global growth and brand marketing and general manager, brand merchandising. He has also served as general manager, laundry marketing strategy, general manager, Roper and Estate, director of marketing for Whirlpool cooking products and director of marketing for Whirlpool brand dishwashers and compactors. In June 2000 he was named vice president, operations and strategy, and in January 2001 named vice president, KitchenAid. A year later, he was named vice president, Whirlpool Brand, North America.

Prior to coming to Whirlpool he held various sales and marketing positions with Norelco Consumer Products Company, Stamford, Connecticut, including marketing manager for the personal care division. Prior to Norelco, he worked in direct marketing with J. Crew in New York.

A native of Stamford, Yaggi earned an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and an MBA in marketing from Michigan State University.
