2007 Awards/Recognition
- Recognized as one of the 100 Most Improved Companies in the United States by DeMarche Associates, Inc., a leading U.S. investment research firm. The 100 companies named to the list were recognized for achieving performance within the top three percent of all major corporations.
- Ranked among the top 20 innovators in the consumer products segment by The Patent Board, the leading independent provider of best practices research, tools and metrics for patent analysis and intellectual property investment.
- Received the "Companies that Most Respect Consumers" award in the appliance category by Brazil’s Modern Consumer magazine.
- Honored with the 2007 ENERGY STAR(R) Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence from the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The award recognized Whirlpool Corporation and its Whirlpool and KitchenAid brands for their long-term, successful partnerships with Habitat for Humanity International and Susan G. 2005 Awards/Recognition
- Named to the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes. Only the top 10 percent of the 2,500 largest companies are selected as components of the DJSI World based on their sustainability performance.
- Again included on the KLD Domini 400 Social Index, as it has been since the list's inception in 1990. The Index is the first benchmark for equity portfolios subject to social and environment screens and consists of 400 U.S. companies that demonstrate leadership in corporate social responsibility.
- Named to Global Finance Magazine’s list of the World's Most Socially Responsible companies. Winners were selected by a panel of leading Corporate Social Responsibility experts with representatives from Good Corporation, CSR Global and the Institute of Business Ethics, among others.
- Received the 2005 American Business Ethics Award from the Society of Financial Service Professionals. The Society, an organization of 20,000 members who are the top credentialed financial advisers in the nation, established the award in 1994 to honor companies that exemplify high standards of ethical behavior in their everyday business conduct.
