How can she help?

Nuechterlein was among the 40 volunteers Thursday who spent a couple hours at the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency’s warehouse in downtown Benton Harbor.

In December, SMCAA is expected to provide about 2,600 boxes of food to low-income seniors and families. Volunteers were there to help pack these boxes with non-perishable food items for distribution.

The majority of the volunteers were members of the Whirlpool Women’s Network, who have made it an annual event to spend time helping SMCAA – which is known for providing food and emergency assistance in the tri-county area.
