Prior to beginning our global expansion more than 20 years ago, Whirlpool Corporation's North American manufacturing operations were committed to employee health and safety, and excelled at preventing injury and loss to our employees. As Whirlpool has expanded globally, the same level of commitment has been and is being provided.
In order to accomplish this objective, and to truly become a global company, we developed internal global health and safety standards and compliance measures through the active participation of employee health and safety (EH&S) professionals in all of our regions. These standards and measures have the necessary support from all of our regional businesses and a consistent global platform in which to effectively share best practices throughout our global operations.
