D. Jeffrey Noel
Jeff Noel was appointed corporate vice president, Communications and Public Affairs in 2004. Noel is responsible for the company’s global external and internal communications, government relations, corporate affairs, and business travel departments. He also serves as the president of Whirlpool Foundation, which includes oversight of the company’s 20 year relationship with Habitat for Humanity that has touched over 200,000 families.
He has managed delicate issues for the company in the US and abroad and conducted interviews on major evening news outlets, BBC, CBS Sunday Morning and CNN among many others.
Noel has served as vice-chairman and chairman of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, and past chairman and current managing director of the Harbor Shores Development ─ a $500 million planned golf and residential redevelopment property ─ and Bluffside projects, a $12 million tourism based development. He also serves as a member Business Leaders of Michigan Board of Directors. Noel is vice chairman of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and president of the Michigan Economic Development Foundation.
Prior to joining Whirlpool, Noel served for 11 years as president of Cornerstone Alliance, a Benton Harbor-based economic development group. He also served as commissioner of the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development Department, director of government affairs for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation, and executive assistant to U.S. Senator Wendell Ford of Kentucky. Noel also was an owner/developer of more than 700,000 sq. ft. of commercial real estate.
Noel holds a master’s degree in business administration from Marymount University and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Kentucky.
