Our People Propel Our Momentum

It is the pioneering spirit of our employees, their confidence, ownership and engagement that improves life at home. In 2019, Whirlpool Corporation achieved a company record overall score of 86 on our Employee Engagement Survey, significantly higher than the consumer product company benchmark and above the engagement levels of best-in-class companies.

Diverse teams represent the consumers we serve, but our intentional focus on inclusion accelerated a positive shift in culture, resulting in even greater workforce diversity. This was fostered by our first-ever Global Inclusion Week, engaging 63% of our employees in more than 25 inclusion-focused global events, the launch of “Inclusion Behaviors” tenets, employee stories centered on walking “In My Shoes” and executive workshop participation (Men Advocating Real Change) on inclusive leadership, with 471 participants reaching every region.

  • A year following Chairman and CEO Marc Bitzer’s organizational and personal commitment to the Catalyst® CEO Champions for Change, our female representation in our senior leaders increased to 30%(e).

  • Our Employee Resource Groups continue to raise awareness for an inclusive culture, representing eight under-represented groups in North America; two in our Europe, Middle East, Africa region; two in Latin America South; four in Latin America North; and one in Asia.
