Karin Risi

Board of Directors

Karin Risi was appointed a director of Whirlpool Corporation in October 2026. She is a member of the finance committee and the human resources committee.

Risi retired after 28 years at Vanguard, where she was a member of  the executive team and served as managing director and chief strategy and product officer, overseeing enterprise strategy, business development, and global product development. She previously served as managing director of Vanguard Personal Investor, leading business strategy, financial performance, digital transformation, and client experience for the firm’s largest business unit serving millions of individual investors. Risi also led the effort to build and launch Vanguard’s Personal Advisor wealth management business. She joined Vanguard in 1997 as an investment analyst and has held leadership positions of increasing responsibility in the firm’s corporate, institutional, and individual investor divisions. Prior to Vanguard, Risi started her career in Investor Relations at Sunoco, Inc. in Philadelphia.

Risi holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Villanova University. Risi currently serves as an independent director of SEI Investments Company and HarbourVest Partners.
