Customer service is a rewarding, but sometimes challenging, job, and that’s just one reason there is an entire week dedicated annually to customer service employees during the first full week of October. Whirlpool Corporation will recognize and honor all cXc (Customer eXperience Center) and Trade Customer Support employees during National Customer Service Week, which is October 3 – 7. Celebrations will take place at cXc and TCS operations in Benton Harbor and Saint Joseph, Mich., and Knoxville and Cleveland, Tenn.

news-cxcCustomer Service Week is an international celebration of customer-service work and the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis. In 1992, the U.S. Congress proclaimed Customer Service Week to be a nationally recognized event to be celebrated annually. Since 1991, the Customer Service Group has sponsored the official Customer Service Week program in the U.S., but it is also celebrated in more than 60 countries across almost all industries.

“Our customer service teams are an information and communication hub that play an integral role in enhancing the overall customer experience for Whirlpool,” says Brad Church, director of Trade Customer Support (TCS) in the Integrated Supply Chain organization. “During the first week of October, we want to celebrate and thank our employees who help to drive our customer service and help us Deliver the Promise to our trade partners.”

According to Sandy Morrison, cXc director, customer service is a key differentiator for the company. For many customers, the interaction with Whirlpool Corporation customer service employees might be their only actual interaction with the company’s employees. That’s why she says customer service employees are versatile professionals who often identify issues, empathize with customers and deliver solutions.

“We are proud of our employees who serve our consumers, community and company every day,” Morrison said.

All call centers in the CAC will also be celebrating three gold medals that they won at Contact Center World — the world’s largest contact center association. Whirlpool was recognized with gold medals in Best Sales, Best Community and Best HR Support.
